Home Health Aide

The Home Health Aide program instructs student to help elderly, convalescent, or disable persons live in their own homes instead of a health care facility.  HHA's provide health-related services under the direction of nursing or other medical staff. Like nursing assistants, HHA’s may check patient's vital signs, help with simple prescribed exercises, and keep the patient’s room neat.  HHA's can help the patient with personal care skills such as bathing, dressing and grooming.  HHA’s change non–sterile dressings or assist with braces and artificial limbs.  Experienced aides also may assist with some medical equipment.
